Crime rates stable in England and Wales

Thursday, July 19, 2007 in Blog

Figures compiled by the British Crime Survey (BCS) and released today, showed that overall crime rates held steady in England and Wales over the past year.

However, Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said that one of her biggest concerns was that public perceptions of crime levels remained higher than actual crime rates – creating unnecessary fear among the general population about their chances of being victimised.

The need for colleagues to get much (very, very much) smarter about their approach to marketing and communications and the importance of addressing confidence and satisfaction as priority performance issues, must surely be clear. Isn’t it?
